N-able Announces Release of N-central® 3.0

Recently nominated as Best New Software at CMP XChange 2003

Ottawa, Canada — October 8, 2003 — N-able Technologies™, a leading provider of management software designed specifically for outsourcing and managed services, today announced the much anticipated release of version 3.0 of its N-central network monitoring software.

N-central is the leading network monitoring software used by solution providers across North America and the United Kingdom to evolve IT service arrangements from reactive to proactive. N-central is a Linux-based application that provides 24×7 remote management with IT service support provided through proactive status, notification, escalation, and performance reporting for capacity planning and predictive analysis from a central Web-based console. Version 3.0 increases N-central's breadth and depth as a leading multi-client network monitoring solution. Some of the new features include:

Enabling managed service revenues, while reducing costs

N-central version 3.0 further extends N-able's product strategy of providing users easy customization capabilities within the system. Features such as generic log, generic SNMP, and ODBC allow for the rapid development of new services within the N-central solution. This new paradigm for service delivery within N-central allows N-able to separate new services, reports, and features from a typical product development cycle. This helps solution providers customize their managed services to address the needs of their customers. In addition, N-able partners can provide vertical market offerings that capture new managed service areas with industry-specific regulatory requirements such as health care (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and financial services (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act).
