Robert D. Chapman, Partner, McCarthy Tétrault
Robert D. Chapman is a partner in McCarthy Tétrault's Corporate Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions Group in Ottawa. He practises in the areas of corporate, securities, financial services and technology law. He is a member of the Securities Advisory Committee to the Ontario Securities Commission.
Mr. Chapman has been in private practice in Ottawa since 1970. Between 1988 and 1990, he was employed as Vice-President and General Counsel delivering legal services to a group of public and private high technology and industrial corporations with Canadian and international operations. His practice includes initial public offerings in Canada and the United States, private placements and mergers and acquisitions for technology companies.
He appears in the 2005 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, a guide to the leading law firms and practitioners in Canada, as a leading lawyer in the areas of corporate finance.
Mr. Chapman received his B.Comm. from St. Patrick's College in 1964 and his LLB from the University of Ottawa in 1967. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1969.
